From the first time I stepped foot in Soul45 I knew it was ‘my place’. I am so grateful to Jonnie for offering something different and something that we needed locally. Since reaching out and enquiring about what he was offering local DJ’s I have been offered a residency and he expresses his gratitude for everything I do, when I feel I owe him the gratitude for giving me an opportunity that I imagine many others wouldn’t consider with me being so new to the DJ world. Jonnie is polite, friendly and genuinely welcoming, and it’s no surprise that my friends and family return week after week. We love him, the staff and the bar. I’ve watched people from all walks of life come through the doors and enjoy the atmosphere, regardless of whether it’s their usual style of music. It’s people like Jonnie who keep Hull’s independent music scene alive by creating opportunities and giving people a safe space to discover something new. Thank you for trusting in me when I never imagined I’d step away from the decks in my own kitchen. I’m having the time of my life surrounded by wonderful people, wonderful music and the best vibes.

I've been in several times since it opened at the start of the month and it's always a fantastic experience. Great music, great drinks, staff are friendly and welcoming, and the overall vibe is fab! New favourite spot in Hull 🖤

We’ve been popping into this place since opening and it’s great. Music is spot on, the DJs have been great and I love the record shop part of it. Beers are great and bar staff always friendly - shout out to Francois 🙌 xx

A Great intimate Bar with a nice selection of ales and beers on draught, bottles and cans for reasonable prices. The draught Cherry beer is delicious and an unusual touch. Apple Cider is on draught too. A few tables inside and outside also to enjoy the warmer weather and watch the world go by. The owner and staff were very helpful and friendly. I Don't think food options or snacks were available, but I didn't check tbh. Looking at the posters on the windows and walls it seems they do various themed nights in there too like northern soul or house music etc.. We will definitely be back.

Absolutely phenomenal place. Would highly recommend to anyone who fancies a nice night of boogying. Brilliant vibes, fantastic drinks and the atmosphere is other worldly.
